Welcome Namugongo Social Services Organization

Namugongo Social Services Organization Ltd (NASSO) is a Faith Based organization born of the Focolare movement members. The Focolare movement was founded by Chiara Lubich in 1943 in Trent Italy as a spiritual and social renewal within the Catholic Church. We operate in a catchment area with a community mix of upcoming mid income level estates and residents but the majority of the community struggle to make ends meet with over 65% living below the poverty line.

Target Population

Our Programs

NASSO oversees three programs on Health, Nutrition and Early Childhood Development and Socio-economic.

Nutrition and Early Childhood Development

In the Nutrition Program, NASSO oversees the activities of Arcobaleno Nutrition and Early Childhood Development Centre. The center contributes to the wellbeing of vulnerable children aged between 3 – 5 year through enhancing their nutrition and providing pre-primary education.

Health

In the health program, NASSO oversees the activities of Zia Angelina Health Centre III, which provides a number of health services which including Out / In Patient medical care, Laboratory, Maternity, Ultra Sound Scan, Dental care and ART (AIDS/HIV) Clinic

Socio-economic

In Socioeconomic program, NASSO undertakes the factors that contribute to the wellbeing of the society, these include the environment, agriculture and vocational training of the vulnerable community especially the women and youth.

Zia Angelina Health Centre proudly announced the launch of its ambulance services, featuring a state-of-the-art vehicle obtained through a partnership between NASSO, an NGO affiliated with the Focolare Movement, and UPLANET, a Spanish NGO.
