About the Centre

A Place Where Children Thrive

The Arcobaleno Nutrition and Early Childhood Development Centre was established by NASSO in response to the acute levels of malnutrition and limited access to quality early education among children in Namugongo.

The centre operates five days a week and provides a holistic package of care: a balanced hot meal every day, structured pre-primary education delivered by qualified ECD teachers, regular health monitoring, and psychosocial support for children who have experienced trauma or loss.

All services are provided completely free of charge to enrolled children, the majority of whom come from families living below the poverty line, as well as orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Our Activities

Holistic Support for Every Child

Daily Nutritional Meals

Every enrolled child receives a balanced, hot meal each school day, addressing malnutrition at the critical early childhood stage.

Pre-primary Education

Qualified Early Childhood Development teachers provide structured learning and play-based activities for children aged 3–5.

Health Monitoring

Regular growth monitoring, immunisation follow-up, and deworming keep enrolled children healthy and thriving.

Parental Support

Parents and caregivers receive nutrition education, counselling, and guidance on stimulating early childhood development at home.

Child Development Screening

Early identification of developmental delays allows for timely referral and intervention, giving every child the best start.

Psychosocial Support

Trained staff provide emotional support and a safe, nurturing environment for orphans and vulnerable children.
