Building Economic Independence

NASSO’s Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment Programme targets the root causes of poverty in Namugongo by equipping vulnerable women, young mothers, orphans, and youth with practical skills, financial tools, and psychosocial support.

Inspired by the belief that every person has the potential to contribute to their family and community, the programme combines vocational training with entrepreneurship education, village savings groups, and ongoing mentorship to create lasting change.

Participants graduate with marketable trade skills, access to microfinance through savings groups, and the confidence to start or grow small businesses — breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
